Slow backups can be a pain, they occupy drives and reduce the throughput of the LTO drives. The possible reasons for a slow Windows client backup

1. Tracker.exe : Disable tracker.exe permanently; u need to edit the registry settings or msconfig of Windows 2000.
2. Thousands or lakhs of files.
3. Network duplex settings. Check if ur card is 100 Mbps FULL duplex.

Use SSO whenever huge SAN backups are involved. MPX levels can affect duplications.
